Keeping You In the Loop...
March 4, 2020
Dear Resurrection Families,
As we continue to hear more information in the media regarding the flu and Novel Coronavirus (COVID19), we wanted to share an update with you.
Thus far, Resurrection School has been in good shape regarding percentages of overall illness, including the flu. Our largest number of absences since returning to school in January for our K-8 program has been 19, which is 6% absent. Our preschool is also in a normal range for absences this time of year. We are thankful that our parents are using sound judgement when it comes to deciding when to send a child to school or not.
As you know, the protocol for the flu and Coronavirus is the same. Here are the steps recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of germs that cause illness:
· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
· If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
· Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
· Stay home when you are sick.
· Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
· Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
If you are interested in additional information, you may visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or the Indiana State Department of Health.
We are also regularly disinfecting "frequently touched objects and surfaces" at school and reminding students of cough and sneeze good practices, etc. Attached is a resource called "How Sick Is Too Sick?" in case you do have questions about whether or not to send your child to school.
Thanks for being great partners in the health and well-being of our students and school community!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Theresa Berendes
Principal
