Welcome to 4th grade!

Hello! My name is Nicole Powers. I am married to another awesome teacher and between us we have 6 kids. I love taking bike rides, watching movies, and reading books in my free time. I graduated from the University of Houston and before that had the amazing opportunity to work at numerous library branches around Houston where I developed a love for children's books. I have been teaching 4th grade Language Arts for two years now, and I have a passion for this age group and learning about their personalities and interests.

I desire to be a lifelong learner and excellent teacher. In our first nine weeks we will be focusing on analyzing stories and passages. Specifically, I want my students to be able to identify different aspects of stories they read, as well as be able to identify new vocabulary words. My goal is to foster the whole-child concept by utilizing multiple teaching modalities and developing creative teaching strategies.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions, or would like to set up a conference.
