Jericho Middle School Clubs
2019-2020
Did you know....
Jericho Middle School has over 30 after-school clubs? Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, gain self-confidence, relieve stress and learn real-world skills. Plus the club advisors consist of one or more of our amazing teaching staff! Most clubs are scheduled to meet at 2:05 until 3:05 throughout the school week. So check out the list of clubs below!
Advertising Club
The Advertising Club is a place for students to meet new friends, express themselves, and help our school community at the same time. We work cooperatively to create posters that advertise school events and themes. Whenever there is an opportunity, we enter poster contests as well. Students do not have to be artistic, as we have access to computers, and peers who will always lend a helping hand. What is awesome about the Advertising Club is that it gives students a chance to relax and unwind after school, while they enjoy taking on low-stress projects. Students learn to work together and open their minds to new ideas. Snacks are served to increase productivity and fun! Students are invited to attend whenever it is convenient for them, and it does not have to be a weekly commitment (although Mrs. Riccuiti does love to have her loyal members)! See you each Monday from 2:05-3:05 in Room 114.
Advisor: Ms. Riccuiti
Anime Club
Anime Club will meet every Wednesday beginning February 5 through June in the Art Room from 2:05 – 3:05. In this club we watch tutorials, draw, paint and sculpt our favorite anime and manga characters which we will display around the school. We also watch, discuss, reflect and critique our favorite anime movies. Our club is so awesome because we are creative and at the end of the year our students take home a portfolio of their amazing anime creations!

We provide opportunities and experiences where students learn to care, cooperate, and become good citizens through service to others. Among our many functions, the club makes mini first aid kids for all of our classrooms and offices and assists in our school community initiatives. Students learn about the needs and challenges faced by their local and global communities. Through the process, they improve in problem-solving ability, their leadership and social abilities improve, they take more enjoyment in the overall learning experience, and they are more likely to volunteer to serve the community in the future.
