New families added! New Deadline!!!
An additional 10 families (with 26 children) were added to our Holiday Helper list and we would LOVE to provide these families with the same gift cards as our other 87 families! Therefore, we will continue to accept online donations only through WEDNESDAY NIGHT. 100% of the funds we receive will go to Holiday Helpers families!
If you prefer to send a check please make it out to WB/GG PTA and note that it is for Holiday Helpers.
Thank you EVERYONE for your support. This program is bringing smiles to MANY panda and gator neighbors this holiday season!
NEW! Winter Party Idea Form
Share your games, activities, or crafts by 11/19/22!
As PTA begins putting together plans for the Winter Party, Room Reps, parents, and teachers are invited to share any ideas for classroom games, activities, and crafts they think would be a hit! We are more than happy to include any suggestions that fit the budget and can be carried out across the grade.
Since Winter Parties are coming up fast we have a quick turnaround on this -- please submit your idea by THIS SATURDAY!
DEADLINE: Saturday, NOVEMBER 19, 2022
RECAP: Veterans Day Event @ Glen Grove
Thank you to parent volunteer Jenn Eubanks and Principal Ellison for hosting some very special veterans at Glen Grove last Friday! This was a very special event that included students interviewing their veteran friends.
Special thanks to the Glen Grove Community Project team for creating a special Veterans Day display near the front office, as well as to Glen Grove gators for creating thank-you cards to express appreciation for our veterans!
Thank you for eating at Chipotle last week!
We made $237!
Our next spirit night will be December 7 from 4pm-8pm at Noodles & Company in the Glen! Mark your calendars!
What is PTA working on now?
Winter Classroom Parties
OUR PARTY GOAL: PTAs goal is to facilitate classroom parties where students are looking each other in the eye, laughing, moving, and having fun because...it's a party! Also, we seek to use the classroom funds responsibly, efficiently, and with a focus on what will create a memorable, positive experience for the students.
FALL PARTY FEEDBACK: thank you to those who provided feedback on the Fall Parties via our Google Form! We heard from 16 parents and 9 teachers in all. This feedback will be combined with the following considerations that are part of our big picture planning process. Specifically, PTA planners have to consider what works for
- 45+ classrooms across two schools
- 7 grades across two schools; each grade has up to 6 classrooms and up to 150 students
- 900-1,000 total students across two schools
- 70+ Room Rep volunteers across two schools
We appreciate everyone's encouragement and grace as our volunteers consider ALL of these elements. The Winter Party will be here before you know it!
PHOTOS OF SOME PARTY PREP (BELOW): we hand-selected another 600 rocks for the remaining two parties! We also cleaned and painted them ALL so they will be ready for the 4th and 1st grade classrooms at the Winter Party, then the 5th and Kindergarten classrooms at the Spring Party. Additionally, we sealed the rocks designed by our 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms at the Fall Party -- they look great! Thank you to our volunteers for spending time on this special project!
Parent Participation Opportunities
Have an idea for a PTA event?
Tell us about it!
We are inviting ANYONE to share ideas about PTA events you'd like to see at our schools!
We've included some key considerations at the top of the form, so check them out and then share your idea. We'll reach out to discuss!
VOLUNTEER: Be A Preschool Room Rep!
Preschool Parents! We are still in need of Room Reps for some classrooms. This roles is mostly about connecting with your classroom via email -- you don't need to have daytime availability necessarily. You'll be working with the other preschool Room Reps and this will be a fun way to connect with other families. If you're interested please sign up below, or, if you have questions please contact us at ptapresident.wbgg@gmail.com
VOLUNTEER: Donate Snacks To Our Teachers & Staff!
Want an easy way to show your appreciation to the school? Drop off snacks for your school staff! You can drop off ANYTIME during the month of your sign up. Just drop off your snacks in the front office (and if you can't get to the office, let us know and we'll help).
Thank you to all families who are donating snacks for November!
News For Teachers & Staff
Thank You Teachers For Your Party Feedback!
Thank you to those who provided feedback on the Fall Parties via our Google Form! We heard from 16 parents and 9 teachers in all. As a next step, your feedback will be combined with the following considerations that are part of our big picture planning process. That is, what works for
- 45+ classrooms across two schools
- 7 grades across two schools; each grade has up to 6 classrooms and up to 150 students
- 900-1,000 total students across two schools
- 70+ Room Rep volunteers across two schools
NEW THIS YEAR: With PTA collecting classroom funds (versus Room Reps collecting them) we can create a lot less waste in terms of supply purchasing AND distribute the extra funds we save toward community projects like the Rock Garden project that each classroom K-5 will take part in. Likewise, the savings from this process can also be applied toward special end-of-year extras...maybe a magician assembly, a Kona Ice treat day, or something else!? This is the first time we're doing things this way so we're figuring it out, but our aim is to add as much "party" into the school year as we can!
Your encouragement and input helps so much! Thank you!
NEW! Winter Party Idea Form
