Peter's Miraculous Escape From Prison
Peter's miraculous escape from prison
King Herod had put people belonging to the church in prison, intending to persecute them. He had Peter seized and arrested, because he saw when he put James, the brother of John, to death by the sword it pleased the Jews.
This happened during the Feast of Unleavened Bread
Seize and Arrest
Peter was arrested during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Herod put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each... King Herod planned to bring him out for a public trial after the Passover.
The Escape
While Peter was sleeping in the prison, an angel came and struck Peter on the head and told him to quickly get dressed and the chains fell off of Peter. The angel told Peter to put a cloak around him and they walked out of the Prison, passing the four guards and walking through the gate.
