Be the Best YOU at Grandview!!!
Data Driving Instruction Week
It's been a hot, humid, Indian Summer here this week! We are getting in a nice routine and back into the swing of school! Teachers are working hard to assess all students and plan top notch instruction to move our students forward. Your students will take the Fall NWEA over the next two weeks, as well as being Dibbled and DRA-ed. Phew......We will be using all of this data to help support the students for intervention and help the teachers to guide their instruction and their workshop model. During testing days, it is important that students are getting great sleep and come to school prepared and ready to learn. We have the most dedicated, caring staff, working hard for our students every day. We thank you, families, for helping get your children into a routine to help with this smooth beginning to the year.
We are off to an amazing start!

Morning & Afternoon Routines
In the Morning
- Please do not drop your child off to the front unattended before 8:20. There is no teacher out their to ensure the safety of your child.
- Doors open at 8:20 in both the front and the back of the school.
- When the students enter the building, they report to their grade level location
- 8:25, students may report to their classroom for breakfast
In the Afternoon
- Please do not park and walk up in the back of the school at Parent Pick-up
- At Parent Walk-up, you must get out of your car to pick up your child and really if you are in a car, I encourage you to go to the parent pick-up in the back.
- DO NOT MAKE TRANSPORTATION CHANGES after 3:00. We have so many calls that come in at the end of the day, that we worry that we will make a mistake. It is so important that you put transportation changes in writing, not just a phone call to the office.
- If you are going to be late, we understand, just call. Every day, after 4:00, we have students left at school. Please call us to help us solve the mystery.
Constitution Day is Tomorrow!
Curriculum Night
Transportation Changes
Do not rely on just the office for transportation changes. It is important that you also put it in writing in an email to the teacher. If you alert the teacher and the office, chances are better that the message is delivered accurately. We have so many transportation changes at the end of the day that makes us uneasy that a mistake could occur. Please do not make a change after 3:00!!

Household Survey Form
We only have 1/2 of the schools household survey forms and we need 100% completion!! Please ask your teacher if you need another copy. We are asking that you fill out and sign the Household Information Survey (one per family), which is needed for administrative purposes, not to determine eligibility. This survey allows our school to benefit from various State and Federal supplemental programs, like Title I A, At Risk (31a), Title II A, E- Rate, etc. This survey is critical in determining the amount of money the school receives from a variety of supplemental programs. Programs, such as our Intervention program, including teachers and paraprofessionals and student support coaches could be lost if these surveys are not completed. We are asking that you please complete and submit it as soon as possible, but no later than September 14. All information on the survey submitted is confidential. Without your assistance, the school cannot maximize utilization of available State and Federal funds.
