AP Parent/Guardian Meeting is This Thursday!

Please join us on February 11th at 12pm or 6pm for an informational meeting regarding AP (Advanced Placement) courses. This meeting is for parents/guardians and students that will be taking an AP course for the first time in the 2021-2022 school year.

The requirements to earn the community service awards have been adjusted. Student safety is our top priority, due to COVID-19 and closures, we have reduced the number of hours needed this year to earn the Tornado Community Service Award and added a NEW way to earn your pins and awards. Community Service Opportunity

💁 Community Service Hours


The first Tobacco Use Prevention Education meeting will be on Thursday September 17th!

Are you interested in a career in health, getting tips for quitting smoke or helping a loved one to quit? Join us to learn about the effects of tobacco, vapes, and hookah on the body. Students will receive community service hours for completing 10 sessions. Join us on zoom every Thursday from 12-12:30 pm starting on the 17th. Contact Ms. Brownstein for more information:

Registration for 12th grade classes

On Monday and Tuesday this week students viewed our counseling team registration video through their US History class. The video is linked above or you can access it and other registration resources at this link https://www.gusd.net/Page/14691. The registration form is due February 15, 2021.

Glendale Community College Dual Enrollment Spring

Garfield Adult School

If you are behind in credits and want to make up a class you need for your diploma you can sign up to take the class at Garfield Adult School. Enrollment and orientation is happening now please email me if you want to enroll. This semester Garfield classes are completely online so it it is a good time to work on credit recovery.

Registration Information and Timeline

Due before February 15th - Complete the Google Registration Form and try your best to register for classes on Q Student Portal.

You can meet up with your counselor after February 15! Please do not stress :)



Please NOTE:

Your schedule is not final until April/May after the Student Portal re-opens for corrections.

For many students who are taking summer school to advance or signed up for an AP class, your schedule will not be finalized until July 16th which is the deadline to drop/add AP classes and when summer school grades will be in so that Ms. Irvine can adjust your Fall schedule.

    • Google Form and Q student portal is due - to create your tentative schedule

  • February - March 15:
  • April/May:
    • Student Portal will re-open for students to verify their class choices. If there are any mistakes or anything that needs to be changed, students will be able to email their counselor.

  • July 16:
    • Last day to drop AP classes, last day of summer school, schedules become permanent, if you took summer school to advance your schedule will be adjusted.

Garfield Adult School for Credit Recovery

If you are behind in credits and want to make up a class you need for your diploma you can sign up to take the class at Garfield Adult School. ECA Online Application deadline is March 12, 2021 at 5 p.m.


ECA admission notification email will be sent by GCC on May 14, 2021.
