The Rocket Review
January 30 - February 3, 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
A new month is upon us and learning is happening everywhere....
Our students are growing both academically and socially and we are so proud of them. Our theme for the month of February is Friendship. Our reading strategy for the month is Love Your Book and our math strategy for the month is Problem Solving. Please ask your child to teach you about these strategies.
Our Choraleers will begin spring chorus on Monday, January 30th.
We would love for everyone to wear RED every Friday in the month of February!
Have a great week!
Rockets, Let's Soar,

Lisa Lucas, Assistant Principal

Learning at a Glance at RVES
Literacy Spotlight
Is there an aroma of learning in the air? In the STARBOOKS Cafe (Mrs. Griffith's Room), Mrs. Griffith's 2nd graders met with Ms. Gribble's 5th graders to discuss different genres of literature. They sorted books into TEN different reading genres. Like a Barista, instead of calling out names, they called out genres. After studying the books, they decided which genre they liked or wanted to learn more about. With a splash of nonfiction and a splash of fiction, the students had the perfect time at the STARBOOKS Cafe. Thank you, Mrs. Griffith and Mrs. Gribble for creating this SWEET learning experience.
