Principal's Message

Sabre Families,

What a fantastic weekend of weather! We hope you had a chance to enjoy it. Today looks like another warm one so keep the sunscreen out and stay hydrated.

Before we go into the upcoming week, it is important to reflect on this past week.

Our grade 12’s had a chance to celebrate and spend time with each other during grad week. There were different themes, lots of food, and ultimately, good conversation with great kids. It was neat and pretty cool to see how the 12’s participated and even how our staff got into it, many unknowingly on ‘Throwback Thursday’ where some or most of our current staff fashion trends were cutting edge ‘back in the day’.

In a year where there have been more valleys than peaks, it was also refreshing to see a semblance of normalcy for our students. As we have noted throughout the year, this cohort of graduates is a special group, not just for what they have gone through, but in the way they have carried themselves and how they have led and set the tone for the school. For our grade 10 and 11’s, they have no better group to look up to and aspire to be.

This week brings us to the final full week of classes. There will be extra support available for students as they wrap up final credits and assessments. Please reach out if you have questions or need clarity.

On another note, and in support of our extended Sherwood Park community, we would also like to highlight Strathcona's largest Food Drive on June 19th in the Festival Place parking lot, at the back of SAL. Details of how to donate can be found HERE.

Have an awesome week everyone.

Stay well and take care,

Sunny Sandhu

Text Book Return

With the end of the school year quickly approaching, we ask that all textbook and library materials be returned to the SAL library. To see what materials are checked out to your child, log into the school’s library system, “Destiny” using the below instructions. Please note that charges will be applied to student accounts for all unreturned materials.

Graduation 2021 Information

The Salisbury Grad Committee extends a big thank you to our graduating students who participated whole heartedly in Grad Week last week. Their enthusiasm and participation rate made each day at the school feel close to 'normal' and we appreciated their engagement.

The details regarding Grad 2021 will be sent out to grade 12 parents/guardians and students on Wednesday, June 16. We are excited to share this individualized and personalized convocation ceremony with you and look forward to seeing graduates and their families on June 23, 24 or 25, 2021.
