Note there's gonna be snacks, legos ,basketball, parachutes etc. All you need to do is bring canned food (non perishables only please). PTO is sponsoring this event. The reason why you need to bring non perishables is because PTO is wanting to help ESCO collect food for the Augusta Caring Center.

Math Olympics
By : Tyler Mullin
Math Olympics is a fundraiser and there are lots of prizes and here are a few. Any students who raise $20 or more will earn an extra recess. If they raise $50 or more they will get to go to a video dance party, and if a class raises $1000 they get to silly string their teacher. The student who raises the most money gets to be Principal for the Day. But, most of all, if the whole school raises $7000 they get 3 options to do to the principal. They are 30 students will get to silly string her, the other options are to duct tape her to a wall or throw a pie in her face. The school has never raised $7000 so let's do it this year. Also we do math activities all day November 16th that’s also when money is due.
Eat Your Food Please
by Gabrielle Rettig
Some students do not eat their food at lunch. Keagan Blake and Adrian Baca see people wasting food in the cafeteria. They both think this is not right. Eating lunch helps kids have energy and be more focused on learning. So kids don’t waste food and make sure you have lots of energy to help you through your day. Eat your food don’t waste it.
Bully Awareness
Bullying can ruin someone's life, make sure you don’t ruin someone’s day let alone life! Bullying physically or mentally is a horrible thing. If you accidentally hurt somebody’s feelings make sure you talk to them and apologize, even if you didn’t mean it. If you are bullied, physically or mentally, it is OKAY to tell! Talk to Mrs. Apel or your teacher if you are being bullied. This month was bully awareness month, if you see bullying in action, stand up for the victim Until my next article! Bye Greyhounds!
PAWS Party
Everyone loves fun activities! There are different things that we do at Paws Parties. Sometimes we get ice cream, sometimes we get to go somewhere, sometimes we get to watch a movie, and many more fun things! If you would like to go with your child on a paws party, you can ask your child’s teacher. If you would like to see when your child’s next paws party is, ask their teacher. But not every child can go to a paws party. Your child can only go if they have meet their classroom requirements.

Respecting Staff
by Faith Magruder
Our staff works really super hard, let's make sure we are treating them with respect. They work so hard. They make sure we are doing the right thing, helping us, and taking 10 minutes after school to help with the crosswalk, so be respectful. Ms Shannon says; “I have been a para for 3 years. I love working in Mrs. Maska and Mrs. Dunsmoor’s classes. I have only helped at Ewalt. My son went to Ewalt so I volunteered and I ended up becoming a para.” Until my next article!SPLASH
by: Tyler Mullin
In SPLASH the 2nd graders go to the YMCA and the staff there teaches them how to swim, they also learn how to be safe in water, and if they already know how to swim they just practice and if their good they get to play. The first splash day is Friday, November 2nd and then every Friday for 6 weeks. Fourth grade student Faith Magruder said, “When I was in it I loved it!”
What Are Ewalt Families
The staff at Ewalt are looking at different ways to help students make connections with each other and with staff. One of the things they are going to try is something called Ewalt Families. Your child will be chosen for a “family” of students in other grade levels and assigned a staff person. These “families” will meet once a month for 20 minutes and do different getting to know you activities and games. The “families” will stay the same every year just adding in new family members when somebody moves. Our first family meeting is this Friday, November 2nd at 2:40. The office will be closed for 20 minutes Friday afternoon since Ms. Christina has a family too.
