Prediction Sheets
Guided Reading Pre-Reading
The students in this particular reading group were asked to write a prediction on the book we were going to start and give reasons for that prediction. They were also asked to say why they chose that book. On the back of the page, students were asked to write if their prediction was correct after the first assignment reading.
Read Aloud
After a discussion on the book's events up to that point, they were asked to jot down their prediction for how the book would end.

For one of my reading groups, the students were asked to summarize the entire book, write their favorite part with reasoning, and create a brochure.

Brochures
These students were told to pick their favorite food and follow the guidelines given in the packet to complete their brochure. However, they were not told how to put it into their brochures. The only stipulation was that the title and their name be on the cover.
