December News
What's happening at HGECC?
Winter is here!
Dear HGECC families,
Wow-we are off to a snowy start this winter! The snowfalls have been so pretty to watch out our windows and we have had so many conversations with our students about the snow. We have talked about the color, the shapes, the temperature, and all of the fun snow activities we can do.
We are coming up on our annual Winter Fest family night! It is scheduled for next week-December 13th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. I hope you are planning on coming out for some cookies, crafts, and games! Bring your camera for some fabulous photo ops too!
Our school "Elf on the Shelf" has returned to HGECC and is up to her old shenanigans. Her name is Elfie, and she is sharing with us kind acts each day. Take a moment to ask your child what Elfie was doing and what she asked your child to do today.
Also-as the weather grows colder-please dress your child warmly. We do try to get outside for some fresh air, so our kids needs to have their coats, hats, and gloves to keep them warm.
It's going to be a short month for us-but we will cram so much learning into these next couple weeks. From counting candy canes and snowmen to reading about and searching for the Gingerbread man.
Are you curious about what your little person does all day while they are here? Check out your child's classroom website for pictures, resources, and updates on what is happening! We are always adding new information to our building page and teacher pages. Go to https://hgecc.grandviewc4.net, click on "about us", then go to "teachers and staff". Find your teacher's name and click on their website.
Remember-if you ever have any questions or ideas you would like to share with me, please give me a call!
Let's make December a beautiful month!

Conscious Discipline Focus at Home:
Be Present
In the midst of modern life and the demands of the corporate world, we often forget that psychological safety and connection are essential when it comes to building strong relationships and healthy brains, so our children may develop into self-confident individuals who trust their environment and have the self-regulation skills needed to succeed.
