From the Principal...
Welcome Buckalew Families!
This is our school's main form of communication and is a great resource for reference.
Please see information in this BUZZ pertinent to a successful start for the 18-19 school year. Please refer any new families to our webpage and to register online as soon as possible.
School will begin on August 15th this year. Grades K-4 will receive an e-mail from your child’s teacher to welcome them to their classroom. Please check Parent Access to be sure your e-mail is updated. E-mails will be sent out just prior to Stop & Drop, on August 13th. If you do not receive an e-mail, you can find out your child’s teacher at Stop & Drop.
School will begin promptly at 8am. This means that students should be in their seats by 8am. Doors to the school will open at 7:30am. (CISD has added an additional 5 minutes to the instructional day to allow for inclement weather days, so it is no longer an 8:05 start time).
See below for back to school information that has continued to be sent out all summer long.
Looking forward to another great school year!
Mrs. Price

Kindness Rocks!!!!
Buckalew Bears have been hard at work painting rocks this year to decorate the front of our campus! It has been a great collaborative effort between the Garden Club mothers, the Art Department, and every student on campus!!
Check out the school of rock fish to the front garden! Each rock fish is unique, just like us and many have words of wisdom to share with future generations on the bottom. I am so excited to see the efforts of your hard work pay off in our first school wide art collaboration!! Thank you Mrs. Tatolli and family, and Mrs. Hargett and family for all of your hard work to make this collaboration happen.
Keep creating this summer and make sure to snap lots of photos!! From Mrs. Doak
Summer Art Challenges:
What will you create? When you return to school in the Fall, bring in photographs of things that you have created over the summer and I will post them on our art bulletin boards. It can be anything (drawings, paintings, sand sculptures, nature art, chalk art, etc…). Be creative! Bring photos in during the first week of school and I will post them on our art bulletin boards!
Fun with Perspective.
Take interesting photos using tricky perspective for our photography challenge bulletin board.
Where will you explore?
As you are out and about this summer, snap pictures of you with art. It can be from museums, in restaurants, or even local statues around the Woodlands. Bring photos with you to art class in the first weeks of school.
Have a great summer and have fun creating and exploring! I look forward to seeing what you bring in!!
