Principal's Message
Last week was memorable in many ways! Thank you to all of our staff, parents and greater Sequoia community for helping us pull off several events and activities last week. Walk and Roll had a record number of student and family participants this year. We saw students excited to eat more fruits and vegetables all week long, not just on Thursday, Healthy Lunch Day. And our amazing Sequoia Safari Walk-a-Thon was an absolute success! We can't make events like these happen without your time and effort and I am so grateful for how our community comes together to support students and families. I am proud to be a Sequoia Giant.
Tomorrow we will participate in the Great California Shakeout. Schools and businesses across California are all practicing their safety plans in case of an earthquake. These drills are to make us feel safe and prepared, and are not to scare anyone. We will practice our duck and cover and evacuation procedures. I will prepare a few scenarios with "injured" or "missing" staff or students so that our search and rescue teams can practice searching our campus and making sure protocols are in place properly. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to be in touch.
Lastly, our garden is in need of some TLC! We are going to have a Garden Work Party this Sunday, October 21st from 9am-12pm. We need help to weed, prune, trim and clear out garden boxes. On Friday, Oct.19th we will have a large debris box delivered to Sequoia and placed on Dupont Dr. near the garden gate. The debris box will be picked up promptly on Monday, but parking will be impacted during that time. Students, parents, grandparents, all are welcome! Even an hour of time would be helpful. Please look below for more details!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Clark
