Skyview Upper Elementary School

FROM MRS. BERICAL
Dear Skyview Families,
Our second week of school was filled with excitement in our classrooms and many smiling faces! Our students are becoming more familiar with the beginning of year routines and procedures and are feeling more confident in their daily schedules. We continue to focus on the importance of building relationships within each classroom community and valuing each student for their individual set of abilities and talents. It is important to the faculty and staff at Skyview that each one of our students feels safe, valued and a part of their classroom community. We will continue to foster this environment throughout the school year.
Thank you to all of the families who participated in our first Home and School meeting of the year. Home and School meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm. Parents/Guardians have the option to join in person at the Skyview library or via Zoom. Please always be sure to scroll through my entire newsletter each week so that you can read the Home and School Association Update as there is a lot of important information regarding how you and your child can be a part of the Skyview community.
I hope you all have a relaxing weekend! Please take some time to ask your child about some of the relationship building activities they have done within their classrooms over the first two weeks of school!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Berical

A Message from Home & School!
Thank you to everyone who joined the first home and school meeting this week. It was a great turnout and we had a very productive meeting. Here’s a link to the September mtg minutes.
We are looking for homeroom classroom parents! If you are interested in volunteering, please be on the lookout for a sign up through Konstella. The sign up will show which classrooms are still in need of a lead parent. The homeroom lead is responsible for organizing classroom parties. This year we will have co-lead opportunities for each classroom too.
Are you interested in volunteering at Home & School events? If so, you can browse through the volunteer opportunities and sign up directly through the “Committee” tab in Konstella. You must have your board approved clearances to volunteer.
Get more info. on obtaining your clearances here: https://www.methacton.org/Page/186.
Konstella – Skyview Home & School wants to communicate with you! Announcements and events will typically only be communicated via the Konstella communication system. Don’t miss out on important news! See below for directions on how to join!
Start by visiting: www.konstella.com through the main web site. Do not access through the app.
Click on “Find Your School” in upper right side. Once you find “Skyview”, enter all your details and click “Submit.” Once approved by our school’s admin team, you will receive an email invite to be connected to the school.
You’ll then be able to add your child to the correct classroom at Skyview. If you have multiple children, you must add each child separately.
If you have multiple children at multiple schools, you will be able to toggle between the schools at the school name spot at the top of the page in the app or under “Manage” on the web site.
We also recommend that you download the Konstella app so that you can receive instant notification through the app.

Lunch Volunteers
We are excited to welcome back our lunch volunteers for the 2022-2023 school year! If you are interested in volunteering your time to help in the cafeteria, sign up through Konstella. This year, our students will be utilizing both the Skyview cafeteria and the Arcola cafeteria for lunches. When Skyview students are in the Arcola cafeteria, it is important to know that they will not be in contact with Arcola students and will be instructed to use the Skyview bathrooms should they need to use the facilities during their lunch time. We appreciate your time in advance and look forward to welcoming you into our Skyview lunches!
