March 30, 2021 ACT Test Day Canceled
To ensure the safety of students and staff, the ACT Test Day for 10th and 11th graders on
March 30th is canceled. All students in grades 9-12 will follow their usual class
schedule.
Funding for this year’s 11th grade students to take the ACT test in school the first week of
October will be sought through the 2021-22 budget process. Families will be notified before the
end of the school year if the funding is approved.
Band Marches on - Online
We are excited to support the continuation of our band classes during quarters 3 and 4 in a virtual setting. In conjunction with the band boosters WBAPI, band classes will be offering specialized instruction for every student and detailed plans have been set in place to make this a positive experience for all.
OSAA has recently opened up the option for limited in-person rehearsal for band and choral programs but the restrictions are significant. Aloha has decided not to begin limited in-person rehearsals for the time being and focus on presenting the highest quality online band experience possible. Our plan is to emphasize high quality, individual and small group online rehearsals and specialized instruction by experts for each instrument.
If you have any questions or concerns about the Aloha High School decision in this area, please reach out to Matt Casteel or LaKisha Clark.
