Resource Room Math Resources
Week 2 - K/1st/2nd Grade Math Activity Choices
1.) Complete 2 pages in Math Fact Packet. (Sent home in folder on Friday, March 13th.)
2.) Play CMC Math Games for 20 minutes. CMC Practice Software (Logins were emailed to you.)
3.) Play Prodigy math website for 20 minutes. Prodigy Math (Logins were sent home in folder on Friday, March 13th.)
4.) Choose a math task to complete:
- Count from 12 to 15, from 10 to 15, from 9 to 13, and from 1 to 15.
- Count 2 sets of objects, with up to 7 objects per group. Identify and write the number to go with each set. Compare which set has more, and which set has less.
- Make flashcards for the symbols: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, =, +. Practice identifying the symbols on the flashcards.
- Practice writing the symbols: "2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, = , +" 5 times each on a white board or in a notebook.
Week 2 - 3rd/4th/5th Grade Math Activity Choices

4.) Choose a math task to complete:
- Count by 2's to 20. Count by 5's to 50. Count by 10's to 100. Count by 100's to 1000. (For a challenge, count by 4's to 40, and count by 9's to 90.)
- Practice saying and/or writing the place value facts for these numbers:
- Practice counting coins. Gather a handful of coins and practice identifying the name and value of each coin.
- Separate coins into small groups and practice counting the amount in each group. Compare which group in worth more, and which group is worth less.
- For a challenge, add different denominations of bills to the mix, and practice writing the totals in dollars and cents.
- Write the two addition facts and two subtraction facts for each family:
5+2=7

Have your child read Story 18: Tim and Ted (pg. 2) three times.
After the final reading, ask your child the comprehension questions for Unit 18 (pg. 13)
2.) Reading Fluency
Select a homework page and practice reading 3 times to practice fluency. (from packet sent home in folder on March 13th).
3.) Journal Prompts
Talk about it, Draw about it or Write about it.
1.If you could cook any meal for your family, what would you cook? Describe the meal and tell how you would make it.
2. Imagine you woke up and saw a dinosaur in your backyard. Write a story telling what you see and do.
Read Well 1 (Most K-3 Students): Sound Cards-create word/sound cards using the following: Create sound/word cards using the following:
oo (as in moon) a_e (as in cake), ar (as in shark), wh, e (as in engine), -y (as in fly), l, i_e (as in kite)
- Create a card with one sound per card. Practice reading the sounds.
- Create word lists using the sounds and have your child practice reading the words.

Read Well 2 (Mrs. Theisen's 8:30 3rd grade Student): Sound Cards- create sound cards using the following:
