New Office Covid Procedures
Starting on Monday, November 16th, we will be limiting those persons entering the school building. If your child forgets something at home, please bring it to the school prelabeled with your child's name and teacher's name. There will be a table just outside of the office for items to be dropped off. The office staff will deliver those items to the appropriate classrooms.
Late Arrivals:
If your child is arriving late, please walk your child into the building and speak to the office staff via the intercom to give the student's details including their name, teacher, and reason they're late. Only the student will be admitted into the building.
Early Release:
If your child will be leaving early, a staff member will greet you in the vestibule to take your temperature prior to allowing admittance into the office.
Note from the Office
Please remember to report any absences from both in-person and virtual learning to the office.
When reporting an absence, we will ask you for your child’s name, their teacher’s name and a brief reason for their absence. The direct line for our attendance is 317-915-4248. Even if you email the teacher, you MUST report the absence to the office! Thank you!
Cafe News
Due to the late start time we are unable to serve breakfast at school. Families will have the option to order 5 breakfast meals per week. The meal pick-up order form will be sent each week on Tuesday for pick up the following week and due Thursdays by 4pm. Meals will be picked up at either HSE High School or Fishers High School.

Veterans Day Program
Once again, thank you to our music teacher, Renee Ross, along with our Media specialist Lauren Avery; our ENL teacher Amy Simmonds; and our HRE Technology Specialist Joe Wheeler for their outstanding work to make the program both memorable and meaningful.
Picture Retake Day
We have scheduled picture retakes
for Tuesday, November 17th.
Virtual: 8:15am - 9:30am
If your child attends classes virtually and they have not had their school picture taken, you are encouraged to bring your student to have their picture retakes from 8:15 - 8:55am. We are not allowing visitors in the building at this time, so we will have a staff member greet you at Door 10 to escort your child to the photographer. Pictures should only take a few minutes.
Preschool: 9:00am - 9:15am
If your child doesn't attend preschool on Tuesday morning, you are encouraged to bring your student to have their picture retakes from 8:00 - 9:30am (our preschool teachers will bring their Tuesday morning classes to the gym to have retakes taken of those that need them from 9:00 - 9:15am). All of our preschool students will be in our school's yearbook, so it is important that they all have their picture taken even if you don't want to place an order.
KG - 4th starting around 9:55am
All Kg - 4th graders that are new to HRE or were absent on picture day will have their picture taken. If your child had their picture taken, but you would like to have them redone, please send the portrait package or proof with them on retake day to give to the photographer.
Please note that our photographers will only be here for a short time in the morning as we are not having the entire school photographed. If your child needs their picture taken, please be sure they are at school in the morning on the 17th.
Updated Car Line Route
Book Fair Coming Soon
The Fall Book Fair will be November 16th-20th. The students will be able to purchase books, posters, and other merchandise. A majority of books cost between $4-$10. We do not collect sales tax.
Please send money IN AN ENVELOPE and write your child’s name, teacher, and amount on the envelope. Please include a permission slip if your child is bringing more than $25. Students who are not purchasing books are welcome to create a wish list.
Our media specialist, Mrs. Avery, posted a virtual sneak peak of the bookfair shelves on her canvas site. Please be sure to take some time to have your child look at the titles that will be available. Our classes only have 20 minutes to shop, so it will be helpful for them to have an idea of the books they want. Check out the schedule below to see when your child's class will be attending the bookfair.

Friends of the Library
Please look at the link below and consider donating a book to our library. All books purchased will be highlighted on the school announcements, your child will have their picture taken with the book & it will be placed on our "Friends of the Library" wall in the library, and your child will be the first one to check out the book. Thank you for making our library better by supporting reading!
Staff Appreciation
The PTO Staff Appreciation committee is wanting to show the HRE Staff how THANKFUL we are for all they have done, and continue to do, to make HRE an amazing place this year. We would love to shower the entire HRE staff with notes of thanks and gratitude. If your student could make a card, or a few cards, and place them in the box outside the front entrance to the library by Wednesday, November 18th, we will be sure to package them up and deliver them to staff before break. We appreciate your time and consideration to show a little extra love to our AMAZING HRE Rocket Staff.
