APS will be sending out a text message test next week. If you haven't done so already, please follow the directions below in updating mobile phone numbers in ASPEN.

APS is currently updating the mobile phone numbers on record so that we can send school cancellations and other urgent notices via text message. We ask that you update your contact information in Aspen using the workflow directions listed here: https://5il.co/1ldxt If you have multiple students, please complete the workflow for each one. Families who wish to have their child(ren) receive text messaging from the district/school, should provide student cell phone number(s) through this workflow as well.

In last week's SMORE, we asked for parents and guardians to help their children practice putting on their winter outer garments so they can be as independent as possible at school. This is especially helpful for the colder months when the children have outdoor recess. From getting the coats on and zippering them, to wiggling on mittens or gloves and maneuvering hats and hoods, young children can struggle doing these tasks on their own. We totally understand! We will continue to help the children and show them some tricks so they can be more independent as the year goes on. If parents and guardians can partner with us to provide further practice at home, together, we can create confident, self-sufficient children who feel pride in being able to dress themselves for the outdoors.

"Research supports that student attendance has a direct correlation to student achievement and graduation rates. Therefore, communication between schools and families regarding student attendance is critical in supporting academic success. All schools will follow the notification schedule outlined below. Students and parents should consult the Student Handbook for details about the procedures and consequences associated with excessive absenteeism at each school."

The Dentist was here on 12/1 and will be returning on Monday 12/5. If you have requested for your child to be seen, please make sure they attend school on Monday, especially if they were not seen on 12/1.

Families with students in grades 3 and 4 - please note the dates below. We ask that all efforts are made to have students present during testing days. Please do your best to avoid these dates when scheduling appointments and vacations.

You may notice that an additional button, called Rooms, will be visible at the bottom right of our Attleboro Public Schools mobile app. This button is part of our integrated system of communication and will allow for your child’s teachers/coaches/and other staff to share detailed information (assignments, special events, practice schedules, etc.). More information is forthcoming, and we will have a table set up at Welcome Back Night.

Lunch applications can be found on the Food Services website, including the online application, a downloadable version in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and a link to access all other languages.
