Teacher Spotlight

Mrs. Martelli, M.Ed. 7th/8th Grade Math Intervention

I am starting my 6th year at Desert Sky Middle School and my 17th year teaching. I absolutely love middle school and love it here at DSMS. I am also a mom of two wild boys (Joe, 11 years old & Tony, 8 years old) who always keep me on my toes. My husband (Joe) and I have been married for 13 years. We are all animal lovers so our home is full of pets! We have a white lab named Max, a cat named Paisley, a tortoise named Leo, and an aquarium full of fish & snails.

What is a fun fact about you?

I am an Arizona native and couldn't imagine living anywhere else! I love the sun!

What College or University did you attend?

I Graduated from Arizona State University. After high school, I earned some of my credits at Maricopa Community Colleges, (GCC, Estrella, & Rio Salado) and then transferred to ASU West. I earned my Associate's Bachelor's, and Master's degrees there. I am currently attending Grand Canyon University online to obtain my second Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the small town of Wickenburg, Arizona. It is a little western town about 45 minutes from here. I was born and raised there and graduated from Wickenburg High School.

What is a hobby that you have or an activity that you enjoy?

I love camping with family and friends. Taking in all the beauty of nature reminds me how truly blessed that I am. I also love summer & being around water. Any kind of body of water (lake, river, ocean, pool) makes me happy!
