Adult & Community Education
Tuesday in the Know - January 30, 2018
Message from the leadership team.
Last week Yolanda Flores, Administrative Director of Post-Secondary, Adult and Community Education had the opportunity to present to our School Board Members on College & Career and Technical Education. This was an opportunity to assist the School Board members in better understanding the role adult education plays, its significance to our community, and the challenges we face. She also gave a very comprehensive description of how our programs are funded at the state level. Click here to view the January 22nd School Board Work Session.

ESOL Instructor Resources
After this first week, everyone should be settled into their classes and knowing all their students names (looking at the "name tents" count!)
It's not to early to start thinking about the CASAS exam. I always think of the word BALANCE in teaching and in life! If you can balance the class with reading, listening, writing, and speaking along with CASAS test practice questions, you should have positive learning outcomes!
Here is an example of sample test items at three levels: Competency 2.1.7: Take or interpret telephone messages: CLICK on LINK to access question diagram
