Announcements for the Week of October 30-November 3, 2017
Outlook Email: As many of you have already realized some of your incoming mail is going directly to your junk folder. Be sure to check your junk folder daily to see if any important email is going there. If so, open the email and click on links to normalize the source to go to your "Focused" inbox.
Open Enrollment: The deadline for healthcare/benefits open enrollment is October 31st. Remember to make your choices or they will automatically program your enrollment on the 70/30 setting.
Flexible Benefits Rep: The Flexible Benefits Rep is here on Monday, October 30. If you haven't met with him and need to please sign up at the front desk for an appointment. This will be the last time a rep will be visiting us for this calendar year.
Leadership Team Meeting 11/2/17: Be sure that your data is completed on the summary form that Kayla sent out. Please note that the sheet includes a subgroup breakdown for your team and the L. Team to review during your share out at the meeting. Also remember to reflect on your goals for the 1st quarter-how and why your students accomplished, exceeded or need to continue.
Readvolution Reminder: Please see the email sent on Thursday, October 19th about Readvolution and the partnership with the Carolina Hurricanes. Please track or help students track reading through the Readvolution website. Include information in your parent blogs/newsletters. See the email for details. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN READ A BOOK THEY MUST FIRST LOG IT IN TO GET A HOCKEY PUCK STICKY. You can either send them to the office OR get a pad from the front office if there are a lot of kids that have read books (in the lower grades this may work best.)
Wild Animal/Character Parade: To culminate the Read-a-thon fundraiser, we will have a wild animal/character parade on November 1st at 2:30 for Tracks 1, 2 and 4. (There will be another parade for Track 3.) The parade will begin in the 4/5 hall and wind around the school to K/1. Mr. Biles and Ms. Fricke will lead. Students should wear wild animal costumes or costumes from characters in a book. This is not a Halloween parade so make sure students understand what to wear. Kids should be able to change out of his/her costume so a change of clothes may be needed depending on the costume worn.
Bathrooms: Remember that is a class is already in the bathroom that if your class comes they have to wait. Also make sure if you send students to the bathroom independently, that they know to wait until the class is finished. Please let Administration know of incidents between older and younger students ASAP.
Forms, Forms, Forms: There are accident report forms, guest speaker forms, movie request forms, movie permission forms, field trip forms, etc.... Please make sure to call the front office or ask your colleagues if you are in doubt about what forms to use, who to give them to, or if you even need one. Chances are you do need one and you'll fill it out wrong because most of them are hard to understand- so be on the safe side and ask.
