HOLD PROTOCOL TODAY at SCHOOL

Hello Parents -

A Jefferson student experienced a medical emergency today at school. In order to provide the most efficient medical response, I called a Hold for the classrooms. A Hold Protocol is used when it is appropriate to have the halls clear for any reason. I wanted to ensure that the hallways were unobstructed for the EMT response during the emergency.

During a Hold, teachers close and lock their doors, keep students out of the hallways, and conduct business as usual – continuing with instruction.

I lifted the Hold once the EMTs completed their work (approximately 30 minutes) and students continued on with their day.

Your child may have questions when they get home tonight. Please let them know that the student received the right care for his emergency and that his teachers, the office staff, and his mom were all here as well to take care of him.

Thank you.
