Getting in the Christmas spirit

Today many children across the school have enjoyed getting out the glitter, glue and sparkle to make Christmas cards and decorations! It was lovely to see the concentration on their faces and pride in a job well done!

Thank You Friends

Fantastic Christmas Fair!

Need we say more! The school is so fortunate to have parents who work tirelessly to organise multiple events which are fun for the children, give us a sense of community, and raise much needed funds. The Christmas Fair was superb! Thank you to everyone who organised behind the scenes (there really was a lot to do!), sold raffle tickets, manned stalls, donated gifts, came along to support and buy ... sorry if something on the long list of jobs has been missed! THANK YOU!

Celebrating A Busy Autumn Term

Autumn Term REAL Projects

The children across school have been working hard on a wide range of exciting projects and we would like to invite parents and carers to come and see the wonderful work that they have produced. Our learning at Ripon Cathedral School is REAL! We aim to make sure the children have a meaningful aim for their topic work - REAL stands for Real Engaging Authentic Learning. Please be sure to have the following dates in your diaries, so you can enjoy their work too.

Year 1 - 12th December

On Wednesday 12th December at 9.30am, Year 1 is inviting parents to join them to work on Christmas crafts. They will also be sharing their film that they have made that includes their learning about the Queen.

Year 4 - 13th December

Parents are invited to join Year 4 on Thursday 13th December at 9.00am to learn about their work on Rotten Romans and watch their hilarious episode of Horrible Histories.

Year 6 - 14th December

Parents and carers are invited to join Year 6 at 2.10pm on Friday 14th December, to participate in an art auction (maximum amount £2.50), to examine the children’s history projects and to see a film about the children’s time in London.

Thursday 20th December

Superstar Worship

Parents and carers are invited to our superstar worship sessions (in the school hall) when we will be sharing some of the work from projects and also giving some special awards! For your children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 come along on Friday 14th December at 9.00am.

For Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 the assembly is on Tuesday 18th December at 9.00am.

Fabulous Flashmob!

As part of our focus on reading children in Year 6 learnt scenes from Shakespearean plays which they presented as a 'flashmob' in collective worship at the end of the last week. Parents and carers were also 'flashmobbed' at the end of the day when the children confidently performed their plays at home-time in the playground. Well done to all Year 6 for some super acting!

Well done gymnasts!

Our Year 1 and 2 gymnasts braved the elements last Friday to walk up to Greystone's for the inter-school gymnastic competition. Our thanks to Mrs Marshall for making sure the children knew the routine and to the parents and staff who accompanied them. All routines were marked and the scores were tight, so we're delighted to announce we came in 3rd place!
