Our Vision: Learning and Growing in Christ
Dear Parents and Caregivers
The Feast of the Ascension
Last Sunday Jesus said, 'If you loved me you would have been glad to know that I am going to the Father.' After his earthly mission this was always his destiny. As it is ours. The disciples, having spent their time with Christ and experiencing his presence again during that first Easter, needed the courage now to let him go and to take up the mission he was giving them. With the return of Jesus to the Father we know the Easter Season is drawing to a close.
Having to let go of someone we love in death is never easy but there is comfort in knowing that God awaits them and calls them home. It is our common destiny.
In our situation and context, we are all he has to live his life and to share his spirit. What a privilege and what a responsibility.
Pope Francis said, “Jesus’ ascension into heaven does not mean he is absent. Instead, it tells us that he is alive among us – we are never alone.”
Catholic Character Award
Sacramental Programme
We had a welcome liturgy/meeting on the evening of 17th May and would like to thank those families who were able to attend. Father Andrew has scheduled a further meeting this term which focuses solely on Reconciliation, its meaning and relevance. He expects a representative of each family to attend with the candidate.
The meeting will take place in the church on Thursday, 2nd June at 3pm so hopefully this will suit parents who come to pick up their child from school. Father will provide all attendees with a booklet to use at home.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
What a beautiful start to the week celebrating the Ascension Sunday Mass together as a Holy Cross Community, both parish and school as one.
Thank you to all the families and staff members who came to Mass in our parish yesterday. It is so important for us to be seen as a united congregation supporting one another as we worship together.
There are only a few fifth Sundays when we have a School Parish Mass and we encourage all families to join us at our next celebrations on Sunday 31 July and Sunday 30 October. Please mark these dates in your calendars as we would like to see all our families at these celebrations.
