Hour of Code Update
Hour of Code is off to a great start!
Students have been using http://tynker.com and http://code.org to complete their Hours of Code. On Monday alone, our students dedicated 4,620 minutes to coding and wrote a total of 4,950 lines of code! Wow! I can't wait to see what our grand total will be.
If you're interested in learning more about integrating coding and computer programming into your class, please contact me!
GoNoodle Brain Breaks

Deck the Halls with Code!
Google recently launched a new Holiday Lights project, which lets kids animate the trees at the White House using code.
Tech Tool: Kidblog
If you're looking for a new way to have students communicate with each other, check out Kidblog! Kidblog provides teachers with the tools to help students publish writing safely online. It gives writing a meaningful purpose and provides an authentic audience. Teachers moderate all content, so nothing goes live until you say so. Engage students in the process of pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, publishing, and commenting — Kidblog facilitates feedback and moderation at all stages!
Green Screen Announcements: Help Wanted!
We are in need of classes for the December 16 and January 6 green screen tapings (January 5 and January 12 air dates, respectively). If you're interested, sign up here!
Jared Box Project
I know this isn't tech-related, but since I am also one of our Student Council teacher leaders, I wanted to remind everyone that we are collecting items for the Jared Box Project. If you're interested in donating, drop off items to Tina or me. Please note that all items must be new and able to fit inside a shoebox-sized container. All donations will be given to chronically-ill children at Lutheran General Hospital. They are especially in need of items for infants/toddlers and teenagers! Thank you to all who have donated so far!
