Softball Wins Hewitt Invitational

Hewitt-Trussville Softball went 4-0 this weekend to capture the title at the Hewitt Invitational. The Huskies are now 11-2-1 overall on the season.

HT 13 Cherokee County 0
The Huskies scored four runs in the opening inning and cruised to victory. Kenleigh Cahalan, Olivia Stults, and Ana Henson all homered. Cahalan finished 2-2 with four RBI's and three runs scored. Stults was 2-3 with four RBI's and two runs scored. Hannah Dorsett scored three times. Sarah Hindman pitched a complete game shutout.

HT 3 Helena 1
Sara Phillips pitched a complete game and struck out 10 batters. Phillips only gave up one earned run and helped herself at the plate with a homerun in the 4th inning. Kenleigh Cahalan extended the lead in the 5th with a homerun over the scoreboard.

HT 7 Hoover 5 (Semifinals)
The Huskies trailed 5-1 after two innings, but rallied for the win. Sara Phillips picked up the win in relief. Kenleigh Cahalan was 3-3 at the plate and scored twice. Olivia Faggard was 2-4 at the plate with two RBI's and two runs scored.

HT 12 Austin 0 (Final)
The Huskies cruised to the tournament title with a 12-0 win over Austin. Kenleigh Cahalan homered twice including a grand slam early in the game. Hannah Dorsett was 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Sara Phillips homered and drove in three runs. Sarah Hindman pitched a complete game shutout.

Girls 1st; Boys 2nd at Husky March Classic


Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track & Field hosted the Husky March Classic on Friday. The HT Girls finished in 1st place out of 14 teams and the HT Boys finished in 2nd place out of 13 teams. The HT Girls finished 29 points ahead of second-place Mountain Brook.

Baseball Finishes 2nd in Perfect Game HS Showdown

Hewitt-Trussville Baseball went 3-1 this weekend and finished 2nd at the Perfect Game High School Showdown in Hoover. The Huskies are now 9-1 overall on the season.

The Huskies opened the event on Thursday night with a 13-0 win over South Panola (MS). Riley Quick pitched a complete game and struck out seven batters. Baker Green recorded three hits. Brett Moseley had two hits and drove in two runs. Jack Ollis had two hits and two RBI's. Carson Wideman had two hits and drove in three runs. Brooks McRae and Riley Quick also drove in two runs each.

On Friday, the Huskies won a pair of games. First, HT beat Mount Paran Christian (GA) 4-0. Baker Green pitched a complete game shutout and allowed just one hit. Green struck out eight batters. Ethan Duhon, Kurt Kizer, and Riley Quick all had hits. Later Friday night, the Huskies defeated Helena 4-2. Logan Phillps was the winning pitcher as he pitched six innings in relief and struck out nine batters. Brett Moseley had two hits and scored twice. Baker Green drove in two runs. Matt Miller also drove in a run.

HT fell to Central Phenix City 7-4 in the championship game. Matt Miller and Kurt Kizer had RBI's.

Hunter Osborne Invited to Under Armour All-American Game


Hewitt-Trussville Junior Hunter Osborne has been invited to the 2023 Under Armour All-American game. The all-star game features the top high school football players from around the country. The game will be played in Orlando, FL in January 2023.


This is the 5th consecutive year that Hewitt-Trussville Football had a player invited to the game.

The HT Boys Tennis team and the HT Girls Tennis team both went 2-1 over the last week.


The HT Boys are now 7-3 overall on the season. On Tuesday, the Huskies defeated Mortimer Jordan 7-2. HT was victorious again on Thursday as they defeated Springville 9-0. On Saturday, the HT Boys fell to Auburn 7-2.


The HT Girls are now 7-2 overall on the season. Last week, the Huskies defeated Mortimer Jordan and Springville with a 9-0 final result. The Huskies fell to Auburn 7-2 on Saturday.


The Huskies will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Hoover for a section match.

Soccer Set to Play Two Area Games This Week

Hewitt-Trussville Soccer will compete in a pair of 7A Area 6 contests this week.


The HT Girls are 10-2 overall on the season and were ranked #2 in 7A in the latest poll. The Girls will travel to Gadsden City on Tuesday night for the first area game of the season. The Huskies will host Vestavia on Friday night for the first area home game of the season.


The HT Boys will be on the road for both area contests this week. On Tuesday, the Huskies will travel to Gadsden City. The week will conclude with a trip to Vestavia on Friday.

MS Tennis Sweeps Homewood


The HTMS Boys' and Girls' Tennis teams had wins over Homewood last week. The HT Girls won by the score of 8-1. Kate Armstrong, Ivy Tidwell, Riley Austin, Eden Christian, Lyla Hatley, and Bailey Moates all won in singles play. Kate Armstrong/Ivy Tidwell and Avery Hatley/Allie Maronge won in doubles matches.


The HT Boys beat Homewood 5-4. Carter Jordan, Kyle Jones, Levi Buckner, and Paul Bethune won in singles play. Carter Jordan/Kyle Jones and Levi Buckner/Luke Stutsman won in doubles play.

HTMS Boys Golf Update



Congratulations to the HTMS Boys golf team who finished 4th out of 11 teams at the Bumpus Shootout played on the Ridge Course at Oxmoor Valley on Wednesday.


Colten Sutton led the Huskies, placing 5th overall. Four HT golfers finished among the top-10 overall.


The Huskies will be in action again on Friday, March 18th when they host the Husky Challenge at Trussville Country Club.
