The EMS Gazette
MONDAY IS THE DAY!
Good Afternoon EMS Families!
It was so great seeing all of those faces during our open house yesterday. It has been so long since we have been able to invite everyone into our building.
If you did not get to attend our open house, do not worry. We will have plenty of people around to help point students in the right direction.
Keep reading for a few reminders and a couple of new updates.
Student and Family Headquarters
If you are feeling nervous about the first day or you missed our open house, take a look at the EMS Tour Video and the school map included in this document. It might help to acclimate you to the building and feel a little less nervous.

Technology
- 6th graders will be issued a brand new Ipad
- 7th & 8th graders will be issued a refurbished computer
When students log in the first day, they will be prompted to review the technology use agreement and acknowledge that they have received it. I am including a copy of that agreement below so that you can familiarize yourself with the expectations for use of our school technology. I am also including a copy of the device repair replacement costs. If there were damage to a device, this document outlines the cost of the repairs.
Charge Those Devices!
Each student will receive a charging cord for their device. It will be VERY important that students charge their devices every night. The Ipads and computers will be used throughout the day and teachers have minimal outlets in their room for charging.
Please designate a place at your home where your child can charge the device each night.
First Day Supplies
We have tried to keep the school supplies simple this year. On the first day, students should bring the following:
- Headphones
- 1 Notebook
- 1 Pocket Folder
- Pencils
- Mask
- Water Bottle (optional)
When students receive their technology, they will also receive a carrying case that they can use to transport their supplies. Bookbags and backpacks are not required. If a student does bring a bookbag or backpack, he/she will be issued a locker to store the bag for the day.
Bus Information
You will NOT see the bus icon if you use the app on your phone; you must use the computer or a web browser.
There have been some issues with students not being included on the bus routes - especially students who were virtual last year. Please check your route to ensure that your child has transportation. If you are not able to find your bus information, please call the school.

School Lunches
As I mentioned early, all school lunches are free for students this year.
We are still asking everyone to complete the free and reduced meals application form. This form is critical to several funding sources for our county. On the first day of school, your student will receive a copy of this form from their homeroom teacher. If for some reason, the form does not make it home, I am also attaching an English and Spanish version below.
