Principal's Update

Tiger Families,

We've had lots of fun and exciting ways celebrating and recognizing our Tigers this week. On Tuesday, we opened the Tiger Up Store. Students are able to cash in their Tiger Up tickets for prizes and experiences. Our staff are recognizing students with 'Paws'itively Proud Write-Ups. We announced our Top Notch Tiger awards during 6th grade lunches today. There are so many amazing Tigers here at LIS!

Please consider joining our MINT PTSA for the 2022-2023 school year. Each family that joins will be entered into the donut raffles for the next 4 Fridays and the raffle for 4 Bengals tickets. This morning students in Mrs. Kirby's class had donuts because one of their classmates, Henrik, won the raffle. Our PSTA supports our staff and students in so many ways, please consider joining- see below for more information.

Go Tigers!

Loveland's 5-Star Report Card

Loveland City School District Earns 5-Star Report Card

Performance Places District in the Top 2% in Ohio

Loveland City School District is excited to announce the results of the 2021-2022 Ohio School Report Card. The district scored a 5-star rating in every category.

“This is a tremendous achievement for Loveland City School District, and a testament to the hard work of our students and their families, and the outstanding support offered by our outstanding staff,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said.

Loveland City School District earned five stars in every component of the Ohio School Report Card, including Achievement, Early Literacy, Gap Closing, Graduation Rate, and Progress. Loveland City School District is only one of 12 districts across the state of Ohio to earn all five-star ratings, placing the district in the top 2% in Ohio.

“Two goals of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision are student success and fiscal responsibility. Being able to achieve at a high level while keeping a close eye on the bottom line is further evidence that we are delivering a fantastic educational value for our Loveland City Schools community. We look forward to their continuing support,” Broadwater said.

'Paw'sitively Proud Write-Ups

There are many different ways we recognize our Tigers for their hard work and for displaying our core values of responsibility, respect and care. One of those ways is our positive office referrals called 'Paw'sitively Proud Write-Ups. All staff have the opportunity to write a student up to be recognized. Students are called to the office, we call someone at home to tell them how awesome they are and snap a photo with the staff member who wrote them up. Our first 'Paw'sitively Proud Write-Up of the year was Arabella from Mr. Waple!

Top Notch Tiger

Each month students are recognized for their positive impact in and outside of the classroom. Teachers choose one student as a Top Notch Tiger for their homeroom. Students are announced during their lunch period and a message from the teacher is read aloud. My favorite part of our Top Notch Tiger recognition is watching our students celebrate one another. The lunchroom is loud with high fives and cheers for all the right reasons.

Care Club

Our LIS Care Club will be starting up for the 2022-2023. The mission of Care Club is to spread kindness and work to make Loveland Intermediate School a better place by participating in activities that promote the Core Values of CARE, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY. Board Game Club

Our LIS Board Game Club meets on Tuesdays in Mr. Kemper's room from 2:15-3:15. Bring your favorite board game and have some fun. Students must be signed up in Final Forms to participate.

Resource for Families

Our partners at BestPoint Behavioral Health recognize the continuing challenges facing students, families, and schools today regarding mental health needs associated with the pandemic. To support families at home, they have put together an online class that teaches practical, easy-to-use techniques that help children rebound from the stress and anxiety called, "Post-Pandemic Parenting". This compact set of short modules provides parents and guardians strategies to help children manage stress, anxiety, and depression.
