Thank you to everyone who submitted a GCC application last week. We received over 60 applications and have enough candidates to register for EVERY CATEGORY!! All forms were due on January 25th and we are no longer accepting any additional applications. Thank you Hardy community, parents and staff for your support in this effort. We are excited to see the increase in participation with GCC this year. The GCC tryouts for the Hardy team are on January 31st from 4-5pm. If your child is selected to participate, they must attend all practices AND demonstrate GREAT behavior. If your child's behavior does not follow the G.R.E.A.T behavior expectation, then he/she may be dismissed from the team. Practices are held each Thursday from 4-5 PM. Snacks will be provided during practice. The competition will be held on Saturday May 4, 2019 at Old Dominion University. What Does It Mean to be a GREAT Citizen at Hardy?
Parents, as we enter the 2nd quarter of the school year, please review the following behavior expectations with your child. Our goal is to help build life long relationships with our students by modeling GREAT citizenship on a daily basis. However, if your child does not make the right choice, he or she will be held accountable for their actions and a consequence will be given.
Hardy Elementary students will demonstrate the following GREAT behaviors daily:
Growth - You strive for improvement everyday.
Respect - You value yourself, others and your school.
Empathy - You care about other people’s feelings.
Accountability - You take ownership of your actions.
Trustworthiness - You show honesty in all you do.
Our beliefs:
We believe in treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
We believe in establishing procedures and routines to promote a positive learning environment within our school.
We believe that making good choices matter and reflecting on our choices should lead to better decision making.
