Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
December 16, 2022
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!
Dear Pleasant Valley Families,
We are well into December and the excitement for this upcoming season and break has certainly filled the air here at Pleasant Valley. Our learners were excited to shop at the PTA Holiday Shop last week. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of the volunteers who helped make our students’ shopping such a success!
I appreciate your patience as our old attendance number was not working, and we were waiting for it to be restored, but it could not be. Please take note of our new attendance line number, 440-843-3867.
Tuesday is the last chance to claim items in the Lost and Found. Items will be donated on Tuesday.
When we return in January, our students will take the Winter Benchmark assessments. Please make reading for 10-20 minutes daily for your child a routine over winter break so they continue to practice and stay sharp with their reading skills.
Finally, the holiday classroom parties will be held on Tuesday, December 20th. Be on the lookout for detailed information from your child's classroom teacher!
I want to take this time to say thank you for all you do as parents- it’s the toughest job we have! Thank you for all that you do to support your child’s teacher, for reaching out with questions or concerns, for keeping lines of communication open, and for giving us the privilege to work with your children every day. I am beyond blessed to work with this amazing Pleasant Valley community, and I thank you for your great parenting. Have a safe break while enjoying the joy of family and the gift of friends!
Very Sincerely Yours,
Mrs. Stephanie Boka

Attendance is Important
Attendance Procedures
If your child is going to be absent, please call our office at our updated attendance line number, 440-843-3867, no later than 9:30 am. If the absence requires a doctor's visit, please provide a doctor's note when they return to school. Daily student attendance is a vital component of student academic success. With House Bill 410, the state of Ohio requires each school district to communicate with families when a child is chronically absent.
For additional information on HB 410, please visit this link.

Please remember to turn in your child's school fees for the 2022-23 school year. 2022-23 school fees are $45.00 per child.
