Newsletter Week 7 Term 4 2022
St Joseph's Catholic School Morrinsville - November 30th
Principal's Message
Nau mai, haere mai St Joseph’s Whanau
This week has certainly been different than most with the water restrictions and the challenge of having water that is safe to use.
Safe Water: Our thanks goes out the the District Council for all the work going in to ensure the water supply returns to normal as quickly as possible. A further thank you to the District Council for the provision of bottled drinking water which has made it possible to re-open after just one day closed, and tap water that is now safe to use for handwashing. The school continues to follow updated advice for schools from the District Council and the Ministry of Education.
St Joseph's Choir: This week we have students as part of the St Josephs School Choir, under the leadership of Jane Fergusson and Chris Follett, performing at the Morrinsville Carol Service being held on
Sunday, December 4th at
- St Josephs Catholic Church : 3.30pm to 4.15pm
- St Matthews Anglican church : 4.30pm to 6.00pm
We wish them all the best and hope you are able to join these services to hear these talented singers.
Diane Porter visit: Diane Porter from the Diocesan Education Office visist the school to spend time working with out children focusing on imagery prayer. Unfortunately this time was cut short due to the need to close the school because of unsafe water. We will welcome her back in the new year.
New Alarm System instillation: currently a new alarm system is being installed in all classrooms. This new system will enable better emergency processes and communication with classrooms.

We pray that in our interactions with others
- We would be your ambassadors
- And we would radiate your joy and peace.
Amen
Every blessing and have a great week.

Are You Able to Spare Some Time in 2023?
URGENTLY NEEDED
Calling for Master Chefs for Our Schools Weekly Sausage Sizzle.
2023 sees a day change to Friday and cooking time to 12.30pm for this service.
Master Chefs are required urgently approximately once per term for
1 hour on a Friday to cook sausages and clear away.
All money raised goes towards off setting costs of student class trips or camps.
We would love to hear from you.
If we are unable to get enough volunteers it may result in sausage sizzle being cut as a lunch option. This would be a shame for parents ease of a lunch one day a week and the students missing out. In the long term it will also mean additional costs for trips, etc.
Please email admin@stjoes.school.nz or phone the office on 8895306 to pop your name o the list. Thank you for your support.
