We will not have a time to go together as a group, but you are free to stop by any time. If your child is taking state tests, you can check out the book fair before/during/after testing!
Starting May 5th: Science Experiment Enrichment!
We wanted to start this coming Tuesday, but we have to push it back another week to May 5th. Here is a description of the activity we will be doing on May 5th:
The older kids (Grades 4/5 and up) will be making wet-mount slides of onion skin and celery slices. They will be making pen and ink drawings of what they see through the microscope at two different magnifications. There will be a discussion of cells, their function and basic parts, and they will also be given a list of plant cell vocabulary to write out, and drawings of cells to label and color.
The younger kids will be hearing a story from a related picture book, doing some coloring or other fun activity and then creating a visual representation of a cell (exact medium to be determined!)
To ensure we have enough supplies, please respond to this email if you will be joining us on May 5th. We hope to see you there!
