Castle Rock Communiqué

Distance Learning Phase Two - Week Three

Hello Knights!

Welcome to Week Three of Distance Learning Phase Two and the month of May! It's hard to believe we have less than a month of school remaining...time is flying by! All of you remain in our thoughts; we appreciate the many emails and messages you have sent to us demonstrating what our Knights have been busy with! We love to see such robust learning happening at home. Keep up the great work, students and families!

This week's newsletter is focused on providing additional supports that your family and student may find beneficial. In the following sections please find information about technology training for parents to better help you support your student, a reminder about participation expectations, new parent resources from iReady, and a message from our school counselor. There is also information presented about spring pictures and yearbooks.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Please help me honor our teachers with a kind Dojo message, an email, or a picture of your child expressing their love and appreciation to their teacher. I know it would mean the world to them! These items may be emailed to me for forwarding, or directly to your teacher.

Thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging time. Please reach out should you have questions or concerns of any kind. Stay well!

Parents! Do You Need Help With Technology?

Confused about how to access your child's lessons and content? Remember to visit and click on distance learning. There are a number of tutorials there designed for students and parents.

Don't miss the Google Classroom tutorial located HERE; most of our teachers are using this tool to share lessons with students and collect work!

Also check out the tutorials for Benchmark Education and Think Central for access to your child's digital textbook and lessons that may have been assigned. Though these two tutorials are designed for students, they provide valuable information you will need to support your child.

As always, if you need additional help, please reach out to your child's teacher.

NEW iReady Support Website and Resources

iReady is offering a parent webinar on Wednesdays in May to assist with understanding how you can use this tool to support your child's learning at home. For more information and to register, click HERE.

You may also access printable resources HERE.

Need Technical Support or a Device?

Do you still need a device? Are you having trouble accessing My Portal? Did you forget your password? Please email for assistance.

A Message from Our Community Club

Yearbooks have gone to print! Thank you for your patience as we worked on making sure that our students would still receive a yearbook despite school closures. Please rest assured that when it is safe to do so, we will make arrangements for students to receive their yearbooks. Ordering at this time is closed.

We have also received many inquiries related to field trip reimbursements. We have careful records of all transactions and will process refunds when it is safe to access campus for the funds. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your donation with the school rest assured it will be put to good use during the next school year. We thank you for your generosity!

Read Alouds

Don't forget to check our school website, student tab, Read Alouds for new additions. Two more chapters of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing have been added!

If you would like to view your proofs and purchase Spring Pictures, please contact Cantrell Photography at (714) 526-3540.

Thank you!
