REMEMBERING OUR WHY
Sometimes it's easier to tell others "what" we are doing than it is to explain "why" we are doing it. At CCS, we always want to make sure that our WHY is remembered and that it is easy for others to see.
It's human nature to think about ourselves first. Maybe that's why it's so challenging to live a life like Christ.. a life of servanthood.
When Jesus instructed his disciples to follow him, he also told them to go out and be fishers of men. He wanted them to spread the good news to others, not just keep it to themselves. He wanted them to make other followers, other disciples. The way Jesus taught the disciples to do this was through loving and serving others.
We want our CCS students to follow this example as well. As they learn and grow in God's word we are praying that they can influence others to come to know Christ as their Savior as well. We can reflect God's love and teach others by using our time, talents, and resources to serve others.
So, this year as our Lions are learning, working, and serving (whether it's in the classroom, on a ball field, out in the community, or in someone's living room) we want them to be disciples making more disciples.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. -1 Peter 4:10
