January 2021
Message from Principal
Happy New Year!
I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday season full of rest and relaxation. Many of you have asked recently about what is the potential timeline and decision making process for reopening schools for face to face instruction. These decisions are made at the School Board level and we anticipate that our CCPS School Board will provide an update on Project Restart at the next school board meeting on January 12th. You can view school board meetings online at this link: https://mychesterfieldschools.com/school-board/
We want to thank each family who contributed to our recent food drive. Holiday food boxes were given out to some Enon families along with some gift donations right before our break. We truly appreciate your generosity. If your family needs food, please make sure you know about our Meals Distribution service and schedule. We have provided information below. The schedule has changed for January to a Tuesday/Thursday distribution. Please also feel free to reach out to our counseling team at Enon if you need additional support and we can look into other resources.
Fifth Grade Families: There is an upcoming virtual open house for Davis MS that you are invited to attend. All the information and links are given below.
As we begin 2021, let's revisit our Vision and Values within CCPS:
Vision: Create a better tomorrow
Values: Integrity, Equity, Teamwork, Ingenuity
We also have an academic goal that we have set as a staff. By June 2021, 100% of our students will meet or exceed 80% of their reading growth goal as measured by Lexia Core.
Please partner with us by making sure your child completes their Lexia independent assignments each week. This will help to reinforce the reading skills that your child is learning during their shared and guided reading lessons each day.
We had a great turnout for our recent Light It Up With Lexia contest over the break! Our winners were Zipporah W. and Arthur Y. for the overall student winners. Our top two classes were Mrs. Jenifer Williams' Kindergarten class and Mrs. Jennifer Meharg's Second Grade class. Congratulations to our Light It Up With Lexia winners!
