2024 CADET LEADERSHIP COURSE: CLC is a challenging week-long event in the summer for cadets who want to refine their teamwork and leadership skills. This year's CLC is going to be a "day camp" style event, with cadets reporting to our Senior Campus at 5am and leaving at 4:30pm each day. We partner with Oak Ridge for this camp, and we expect 80-100 cadets to participate. The camp will be Tuesday 28 May through Friday 31 May for rising sophomores and juniors; rising seniors who are part of the selected leadership team will also have a session Monday 27 May (that is Memorial Day). We plan one overnight "field exercise" Thursday night into Friday. The graduation ceremony will be 6pm on Friday 31 May. Cadets must attend all scheduled days, arriving at the scheduled times, in order to graduate and earn the CLC Ribbon, so please check your family calendars.
Activities at CLC include PT, drill, uniform and room inspections, academic and STEM courses, team sports, and more. Interested cadets and their families need to know:
- Cost is $100, payable in SchoolCash Online by Friday 19 April. This fee covers lunch each day, CLC shirt and hat, camp nurse, Cadet Training Officer (college-level cadet leadership) lodging, and equipment and supplies.
- Cadets must have earned at least the 55th percentile on their Spring Physical Fitness Test. The camp days are very challenging and being in above-average shape ensures a cadet can handle the stresses imposed during the day.
BOOSTER CLUB REMIND 101: A Special Message from BC President Ross Nix: "Text @bcjrotc to 81010 to sign up for important BC messages and updates." It's a great, easy way to get text notifications for things like Spirit Nights, volunteer opportunities, etc.
