Message from the Superintendent

Dear Panther Families,

It has been wonderful to see the students outside more in our warmer spring weather, and to watch our many spring athletic teams this season. It's great to see our District and community support for our student athletes. To facilitate those who wish to attend upcoming events, we have included a button link to our District Athletic Page at the bottom of our Upcoming Dates section. This page is continually updated to reflect any last minute schedule changes.

At the School Board of Directors meeting on April 22, 2021, it was announced that the official last day of school for students will be Friday, June 4, 2021. Monday, June 7, 2021 will no longer be an inclement weather make-up day, as it has been approved as an Act 80 Day. Notice of this change was sent via Blackboard email on Friday, April 23rd.

This past week our Middle School and Elementary students started their annual PSSA tests. We are proud of our students' best efforts and focus demonstrated during this testing period. Thank you to our teachers and staff for preparing our students for these tests!

Warmest Wishes,

Middle School - Lessons on Respect

During the month of April students at the Middle School have been learning about what it means to be a respectful person.

  • On April 6th and 7th - Students learned about the definition of respect and how to be respectful of self, others, feelings, time and property.
  • On April 8th - Each Advisory group made an acrostic about respect that represents their understanding of the character trait.
  • On April 15th - One representative from each Advisory group participated in a gallery walk in which they decided which parts of the acrostics would be represented in the construction of a building wide respect pledge.

The respect pledge will be the mantra for how all people at the middle school treat each other and how we strive to interact. Follow-up activities are planned to embed the pledge in all we do.
