Bullying Assembly with all Students
Here are some reason why kids turn to bullying:
- They lack attention at home, so they lash out at others to get attention.
- If they have been bullied, they are more likely to bully others.
- An adult role model is a bully.
- They crave power and attention.
- They have low self-esteem.
- It makes them feel stronger, smarter and better than the person they are bullying.
- It keep others from bullying them.
- They do it to fit in to a certain clique.
Ways to stop a bully or bullying situation:
- Ask them to stop.
- Walk away and don't give them a response to react to.
- Tell someone.
- Don't react or act out toward them.
- Surround yourself with supportive friends.
You are always able to reach out to teachers, staff or Mrs. Randenburg if something is going on that your child needs help with handling. It is best to reach out to the teachers first. They are with your child all day.
We are also teaching our students that we DO all make mistakes. If we learn to own the mistake, make it right that then helps to move on from the behavior to be better, that's the key. We are trying to reteach the behaviors we want to see from our students.
One way we do this is by thinking of our E+R=O. (event+response=outcome). We have taught the students to think before acting or responding and to take breath breaks and count to ten. These are strategies that do work, but need to be practiced. Think of how hard it is for adults to handle situations. Many times we as adults overreact and yell at people. We all need to be teaching our children how to pause before responding.

Final Forms
We still have about 52 parents that need to fill out their forms. If you have not yet completed your forms please call the office and we can help you. If the forms are not completed your child will be unable to return to school.
Go into the Final Forms to complete your child's information for this school year. This is our new platform for you to add your phone numbers, doctors numbers, address and other emergency information. You can find the link on our district web page. If you have questions please call the office at 845-4480. We can help you.
Positive Referrals
When students receive a positive referral their photo is taken, the receive a bracelet, candy or a pencil. Additionally, students receiving positive referrals are honored as we hang their photo in the hallway of each student receiving a positive office referral and these students are also honored on our morning announcements which can be viewed on our Youtube channel, and their pictures scroll on the TV in the office. It is really exciting for our students.

Safer Ohio School Tip Line
Safer Ohio School Tip Line
The Safer Ohio School Tip Line is a free safety resource available to all Ohio schools. The tip line is an anonymous reporting system that accepts both calls and texts 24 hours a day.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Things to report to the tip line include (but are not limited to):
Bullying incidents;
Withdrawn student behaviors;
Verbal or written threats observed toward students, faculty or schools;
Weapon/suspicious devices on or near school grounds;
Gang related activities;
Unusual/suspicious behavior of students or staff;
Self-harm or suicidal sentiments; and
Any other school safety related concerns.
Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.
Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts within Ohio Homeland Security. If action is needed, the analysts immediately forward information to local school officials, law enforcement agencies and the Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC) for action and follow up.
The OSSC partners with the Ohio Department of Education to follow up with affected school and law enforcement agencies to make sure that the incident is investigated, action is taken and resources and supports are provided when necessary.
Tecumseh Education Connection
The Education Connection is a telephone number that you can call 24-hours a day to listen to your child’s homework assignments, report your child’s absence, hear the lunch menu, find out the scores of the big game, hear about school closings and leave a private message for a staff member.
You will still need to call your child in if they will not be attending school, or doing their online work for the day. We will still need to document attendance. We are marking students with green, yellow and red attendance.
- Calling your child in sick.
- Leave a voicemail with questions.

Arrival and Dismissal at NCES
Arrival - Please drop off students at the front door no earlier than 8:30 to make a shuttle bus. Students are not able to enter the building prior to 8:30. If your child is having breakfast they can enter at this time. If your child is NOT eating breakfast at school they can arrive at 8:55.
Dismissal - All students will be picked up using the curb lane. Try to not have them walk around the car to enter. This is a safety concern for our students. If you are picking up your child please wait at the light pole by the crosswalk or stand on one of the many red dots.
Thank you for your cooperation. Our students safety is our highest concern.
