CAR RIDERS
**Avoid pulling into the front parking lot to grab your child. Students crossing in front of the car rider line is extremely dangerous. I ask that you continue to be patient and use the proper car rider line for your child's safety.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Greetings from the CMSS Counseling Center!
I have enjoyed helping the 5th grade students and their families transition to middle school life during the first few weeks of school. I have also had the privilege of visiting several classrooms and presenting guidance lessons to our students. I look forward to visiting the rest of the 5th grade classrooms over the next several weeks.
The counseling center would like to thank our parents for donating gently used clothing over the past month. Those donations serve a variety of purposes at our school and we are so thankful for them. Please keep us in mind as the weather gets cooler and you are cleaning out your students' closets to prepare for fall/winter. We could use hoodies in just about any size that would fit a middle school student. We truly appreciate your support!
Schedule Alert: Our 5th and 6th grade students will have an opportunity to hear an important message from guest speaker Tom Thelan onSeptember 21 at CMSS. His talk will inspire and motivate students in many ways while also including an anti-bullying message, empowering students to "be the change" at their school. There will be a parent night on Tuesday, September 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Cabot Freshman Academy Cafeteria for parents to hear this message and also learn ways to support their students.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs. True, 5th Grade Counselor
The sixth grade students kicked off their self-esteem programs last week.
The girl’s program called From Cutie to Beauty:
From the Inside Out welcomed our first guest speaker, Krystal Wynne, from The Villa Salon and Day Spa. Krystal spoke to the girls about hair care. The winner of the make-over with Krystal for the month of September is Jayden Cloinger. Jayden will get her hair and nails done, compliments of Krystal at the salon. She will also go to eat dinner at Zaxby’s after the make-over with her mom and Mrs. Homsher. Several of the other students also won prizes. Congratulations to all the winners!
On Tuesdays, when the weather permits, the girls will listen to music and paint their fingernails in the reading court during their lunch recess. We would like to invite moms or other special guests on this day to join their daughter for lunch and paint fingernails with us.
The boy’s program called Wholesome and Handsome:
Proud but Humble welcomed guest speaker, Coach Daniel Fuller. Coach Fuller shared with the boys about his career as a teacher and coach and what education he needed to do what he does. He also showed the boys how to play the washer game. The washer game will be an added lunch recess activity each Thursday when the weather permits us to be outside. Dads are welcome on Thursdays to come eat lunch with their son and then play washers with him. The winner of the Mean Pig dinner and bowling at Allfam Bowling Center for September is Laine Driskill. Several other students also won prizes. Congratulations to all of the winners!
Thank you,
Mrs. Homsher
