Mark Twain Book Club Celebration

Zoomobile and Poppy's Ice Cream Truck at WVE

You are invited...

To come to the Mark Twain Book Club Celebration. This means that you read and came to discuss at least three different book club books this school year. We are so proud of your reading accomplishments and your continued commitment to our book club. As a reward we would like to invite you to attend our celebration.

Journey to Survival

To go along with Chomp, by Carl Hiaasen, we will be having some zoo animals visit us at school. We will learn more about survival terms such as endangered, extinct and threatened. We will be able to identify four reasons that lead to endangerment. In the end we will be left with how we can personally help with the survival of animal species today.

Zoomobile and Ice Cream Truck

At 2:00 our fourth and sixth grade students will begin with ice cream outside (as long as the weather permits) while fifth grade begins with our special presentation from the Kansas City Zoo. Then between 2:45 and 3:00 we will switch to allow for the 4th and 6th graders to receive their presentation and the 5th graders can enjoy their ice cream outside.
