The First 5 Days are Behind Us!

It may seem like longer, but we've actually just finished the first 5 days of school! It has been GREAT to reconnect with our students and families!

More Dismissal Changes

FRONT WALKER IS BACK!

We are bringing back the Front Walker option for dismissal effective Thursday (tomorrow!). You can now go into School Dismissal Manager and select this option.

In the past we have had safety concerns with Front Walker. Please help us by following these parent expectations to help us keep students safe:

1. Where do parents gather for Front Walker pick up?

Parents should not gather close to the front doors. We need space for our students to assemble and for teachers to monitor students. We will help define student assembly space by marking with chalk & cones on the first few days to give you a visual of the area to avoid gathering.

2. I see my child, what do I do?

Each grade level teacher will have a list of Front Walker students to check off upon parent pick up. Parents, please don't wave from a distance for your student to come to you. The teacher on duty must ensure that the child is released to the appropriate adult. So, please check your child out directly with the teacher.

3. I've got my student, now what?

Please do not linger in the pick up area or let your child play in the front of the school. PLEASE walk with your child to your car. We want to ensure the safety of child during this busy time.

Thanks for helping us keep your child safe. We know you missed Front Walker! Adding it back as an option helps us get all students to their parents sooner AND helps us distance a bit more during dismissal.

BIKE RIDER AND BACK WALKER UPDATE

These dismissal options have been updated in School Dismissal Manager so that they are not a combined option, but two separate options. If your child is a bike rider or back walker please log in to School Dismissal Manager to make sure your child's default is set correctly.

Move to RED Stage in Covid Protocols

Please see the district webpage for details on RED Stage protocols.

Masks...we know this is a hot topic. I am so thankful our RPE parents have been understanding as we managed this sudden change in procedures today. You are the BEST!

Per LISD, masks are required. RPE will continue to work with families on an individual basis who have medical notes on file or concerns about masks being required. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming learning environment for all students. Reach out to tina.pasak@leanderisd.org with concerns.

Here are just a few updates to changes on our campus based on the move to RED Stage:

  • We are working this week to make adjustments to systems on our campus (such as classroom seating, lunch line-up procedures, lunch seating, transitions, and dismissal) to provide additional social distancing.

  • No visitors or volunteers are allowed while in the RED Stage.

  • We encourage students to bring water bottles, as fountains will be closed at this time.

  • Large group gatherings will not be taking place while in the RED Stage (no assemblies or indoor events).
Big picture

After School Enrichment Sessions

We are thrilled to announce that registration for our first after school enrichment session is open!

This year we have a combination of enrichment opportunities, led by our very own LISD faculty as well as the YMCA. Please visit the registration site to see what courses are available at your students campus and to register! Please note that not every campus has faculty-led courses for the first session, however there are at least two YMCA led enrichment courses at each campus.

Register now! Registration closes August 25th!
