THIS MONTH'S CORE VALUE
Not sure if your child has let you know, but our Core Value this month is Knowledge!
Knowledge - Learning something more so you can be better at whatever you do.
MAP Growth Testing this Week...
Please talk with your child and encourage him/her to take his/her time and do their very best! It's time for them to show not only what they know, but how much they GROW!!! (I know...should be grown, but that doesn't rhyme!). Review your child's RIT Score with them from September and be aware...the goal score for September is not the same and January (it's higher!!).
If you have any questions, contact your child/children's Reading Teacher.
SPECIALTY PROGRAM (TAG) LOTTERY IS OPEN
http://pgcpsmdc.scriborder.com.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Walton - wendy.walton@pgcps.org
Things you should know about the TAG Lottery...
- If your child is in the TAG Program now and has gained entry into the TAG program via the Lottery (last year) he/she doesn't have to re-enter the Lottery -- their spot continues through elementary school.
- If your child has been identified TAG any time between September 2019 and now...enter him/her in the Lottery
- Even if students are in the process of being identified, you can still enter them in the Lottery.
- TAG starts in 2nd Grade (students are identified - universally- during first grade and third grade year)
- TAG Center Placement is based on your address and your neighborhood school.
- Students who attend CHES as a special transfer student do not automatically gain entry into the TAG classes - they must enter the Lottery (and it is possible that CHES is not their TAG boundary school)
