Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids (M.A.C.K.) is Mountain Avenue’s educational foundation. Support the Annual Fund, M.A.C.K.’s biggest fundraiser of the year, by donating today. MACK provides many resources to students and teachers during distance learning. MACK also makes long-term investments such as funding the purchase of Chromebooks for each student at Mountain Avenue. Please support your student’s educational foundation by donating to the Annual Fund today.
MACK Annual Meeting
Please join the MACK Board, via zoom, for our Annual Meeting on October 14th at 6:00pm. The zoom link will be sent out to families on October 14th. Also, remember to look for MACK (re)Minders during the month of October to tell you about various programs that MACK currently funds, has funded in the past and plans to fund in the future. PTA Reflections - Due FRIDAY!
The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is I Matter Because.... Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories:

Music Composition

Visual Arts
The deadline to turn in your Reflections work is next Friday, October 9th. The front office has a box outside their door for any Reflections work drop off, between now to October 9th, from 8 to 4 pm. Click here to access the Entry Form.

Math Club is open to all 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students and will begin virtually. The first 40 students will be admitted. Mrs. Hickman is the club advisor.

Math Club will meet from 3:15 - 4:15 every Wednesday starting November 4th - May 19th excluding holidays. Once registration is confirmed, Mrs. Hickman will share the zoom link with families.
At this time, we are not formulating a Math Team, as the status of the District Math Field Day has yet to be determined.
Pasadena Tournament of Roses - Day of the Dead Art Competition
Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses has partnered with Concamin, EWomenMX, Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles and the Roybal Foundation to host the first ever Day of Dead (Dia de los Muertos) Art Competition. Competition is open to students ages 4 - 18 for a chance to win scholarships and gift cards. Entries are due October 28. Winners will be announced November 2. UCLA Armenian Music Program Virtual Lectures and Performances
The members of the UCLA Armenian Music VEM Ensemble are delighted to offer virtual outreach lectures and performances for students, where the VEM members perform various gems of Armenian classical and contemporary music and talk about their journeys as musicians who are exploring Armenian music and culture. The lectures/performances are approximately 50 minutes in length and include 10-15 minutes for a Q&A with students to give them an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.
