Evidence of Student Thinking

at Meadowview

Many of you have heard me talk about wanting to see evidence of student thinking in classrooms and hallways. Posters can prompt student thinking (if referenced on a consistent basis). For instance, while I was in Rebekah's room, a student pointed to one of the mathematical practices and explained how he was using it. However, posters don't always prompt thinking and engage students in the learning process. When students are engaged in the learning process and their thoughts are recorded and posted, they come to believe that their thinking is valued. Below are some examples of the evidence I collected throughout Meadowview. I've also included two links that may be of interest.
