YEA! February is here!
February is one of my favorite months! Conversation hearts are one of my favorites, too! :)
Friday, February 5th is the re-scheduled 4th grade G/T Quiz Bowl. The event is hosted at the First Baptist Church. Good luck 4th grade G/T students!
School will be in session Monday, February 15th. This day was designated on the school calendar as a possible snow day. Due to the snow day on Friday, January 22nd we will make it up on February 15th.
We have lots of screenings coming up this month.
- Free Dental Screenings for 2nd grade students, Friday, February 19th.
- BMI (Body Mass Index) Screenings on Tuesday, February 23rd for grades K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th.

CTA Teachers With Heart Award:
Nomination Time
Cabot Classroom Teacher Association (CTA) has once again teamed up with Centennial Bank in Cabot to honor our district’s most outstanding educators.
The CTA is recognizing the great work of some of our best and brightest teachers with the annual “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award.”
Beginning January 15, 2016 – March 2, 2016, parents, colleagues, principals, students, and members of the public can nominate Cabot teachers for this award.
Changes this year include: Fourteen teachers (seven elementary finalists Pre-K-6 and seven secondary finalists 7-12) will be selected as finalists for the “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award.”
All finalists will be recognized at the end of year district meeting in May and two outstanding teachers (one elementary teacher and one secondary teacher) will be presented with the “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award” and $300 cash!
Again, nominations will be accepted from January 15, 2016 to March 2, 2016.

PTO SKATE NIGHT
Lace up your skates and join us for some fun!
Southside’s 2015-2016 READING CHALLENGE
Beginning November 20th Southside students will be challenged to read a book for each BINGO square.
Mark an “X” over the square when completed and add the book title to the corresponding line on the back of the BINGO card. An adult must initial each book read.
Once you have completed a Black Out bring your BINGO card to Ms. Wilson, our Librarian, and you will receive an invitation to our End of the Year Reading Celebration.
You will also get caped with your “Reading Super Power” cape and your picture will be added to our “Reading is My Super Power” Wall of Fame.
All BINGO cards must be completed by May 1st for you to be eligible for the Reading Celebration.

If you are interested in adding a namestamp, your order MUST be placed online. Each of these add-ons will be an additional $5.

Cabot Public Schools is proud to debut its new mobile app.
The app gives parents, students, staff and patrons direct and immediate access to school news, notifications, student info, resources and much more!
All this information is available in one place and right at your fingertips. It’s also free and just a single download away.
The free official Cabot Public Schools app is available right now in the App Store for iPhones and on Google Play for Android users.
If you have an iPhone, to get started visit the App Store and search for Cabot Public Schools or Cabot School District. Once you find it, just click on it to download the app to your phone.
If you have an Android phone, you’ll go to Google Play, and again either search Cabot Public Schools or Cabot School District and download it to your phone.
Once it’s downloaded, you’ll want to explore all the features available. It’s a great place to stay connected.

• Customize your app to follow and get notifications from the district and/or school(s) of your choice
