Student Led Conferences--Parents

Every student at Longbranch will facilitate a student led conference this year to showcase their learning throughout the year. We prefer the conference to be with the child's parents. If you are unable to attend your child's conference on Tuesday or Thursday of this week from 4-7pm, we will arrange for an alternate adult to conference with your child about their progress and celebrations this school year. To sign up, please contact your child's teacher.

Student Led Conferences--Alternate Adults

If you can set aside some time to conference with a Longbranch student about their goals, progress, and celebrations this year, we'd love to have you. We have about 200 students who currently do not have an adult to conference with. If you can give 10-15 minutes for a child or for children, please sign up here: https://goo.gl/forms/k0oPzAZEZaf5gB6v2

Our yearbook coordinator cannot be at all the awesome events that go on with our students throughout the year and needs your help in making sure we get a large variety of kids and activities included in the book!

Please email photos that you would like to submit for possible inclusion in the yearbook, along with the names and grade of the students in each picture, to longbranchyearbook@gmail.com. If you would rather send them in another format that is fine too!

Kroger Cards Help Generate BIG MONEY for Our School

Kroger donates 4% of all money you spend after you scan your Kroger Plus card as long as you connect the Plus card to our Longbranch PTA account.

If 400 families connected their cards and spent $100 a week at Kroger, each family would make $4 per week. That's $1600 a week. That's $19,000 a quarter. That's unreal. That's plain and simple easy money.

We encourage you to visit Kroger.com and create an account. Click Community Rewards. Search for Longbranch and connect your plus card with Longbranch PTA. It's the EASIEST fundraiser you'll ever participate in, period.

Last Day of School

The last day of school is still a little in the air BECAUSE we are waiting to hear from the state if they will forgive the emergency day we requested for March 1st. The application has been sent to the commissioner, but we await a state school board meeting for approval or denial.

As of TODAY, the last day is May 25th. If the emergency day is approved, the last day is May 24th. We've never NOT had an emergency day approved so we're operating under the assumption that it will be and the last day will be the 24th for students. However, that's not 100% solid.

So, the last day is either the 24th or 25th. We think your kids are hoping for the 24th. :)

SBDM Parent Elections

Elections will take place on Monday between 8:30am and 7pm. Please stop by and cast your ballot. We are electing two parents of the three running. You can view their bios and letters of interest here.

Thank you, parents!

Thank you to our parents for working the booths and inflatables at the carnival, for manning the volunteer room, for creating and facilitating the silent auction, for serving on the action team, for coming early to set up, and for staying late to take it all down. Thank you to our food vendors and to our patrons. We hope you had a great time!

Congratulations, Amanda Scroggin! You ran an amazing action team who did an incredible job creating a spring fun event for our community!!

7 Habits 101

Sharpen the Saw!

Students who sharpen the saw regularly have a greater output of performance in work or school tasks. To sharpen the saw means you take time to nurture your mind, body, and soul so you can be your best you. Tagline: Balance is best.

LOOKS LIKE: From an adult perspective, you take time daily to mediate, walk the dog, read for enjoyment, attend a painting class, play an instrument, run with a friend, etc. Daily you or your child participate in something that brings you joy and balance to your life. Did you just say, "I don't have time for that"? You don't NOT have time for that. There's very solid research that would tell you that if you do this daily, your productivity will skyrocket.
