News From the Principal
Hello TES Families,
We now have only 16 days of school remaining! Please help us finish strong by getting students to school and getting them here on time. Thank you for your support.
Above is a flyer for the Positive Parenting Zoom workshop starting with the first session this Thursday, May 18th, at 6:00 to 7:30. The cost of the event is sponsored by the SD county office and comes free of charge to our school community. Use the QR code to register and the zoom link will be sent to the email you share during the registration.
STATE STANDARDIZED TESTING is under way! All 3rd-5th graders are tested throughout the month of May. Your child's individual teacher should communicate with you about specific dates for their class. Please make sure your students get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast and come to school on time during testing! Thank you for helping your child be successful!
Noon duty supervision needed!
Lunch supervision personnel are needed at Tierrasanta Elementary for next school year! Do you live in the area and are available between the hours of 11:20 and 12:20 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)? If so, TES needs you! Help your neighborhood school and make a little money at the same time. Starting pay is $15 per hour and entails supervising children during their lunch period (both on the playground and at the lunch tables). If interested, please contact Alyson Gore at agore@sandi.net to get the process started. Thank you!
When planning your summer and vacations please see the calendar for next school year and note that school starts on August 21st, 2023 (a week earlier than usual):

TRAFFIC & SAFETY REMINDERS:
Please remember that ALL parking lots are closed in the afternoons. You may not enter the parking lots to pick up your children in the afternoon. Please park off campus and walk in to meet your child. The only exception is cars with valid, visible handicap placards that need handicap parking.
In the morning, the main parking lot is open for DRIVE THROUGH AND DROP OFF ONLY. Please do not park in the parking lot in the morning and do not get out of your cars as you drive through. When drivers park and get out of their cars it creates problems for everyone else trying to drop off quickly and keep the lines moving. If you need to get out of your car to assist your child, please park off campus and walk them in.
If you are newer to our school or need a refresher, complete drop off/pick up details can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Vb1SPPueeZxGOOtE6_RmMFmBY9Hr9QMAd-auZ3p3m7M/edit?usp=sharing
Thank you for helping to make drop off and pick up smooth and safe!!
After School Care registration (provided on-site by Recreation Unlimited) can be found here: https://rec-unlimited.org . It is fee based and NOT run by or affiliated with the school. Recreation Unlimited rents the space on the school campus to run their program. The program is currently full but names are being taken for the wait list. There is a free tutoring program available to students through the Brainfuse Company. This program is part of the California State Library systems and will connect you virtually to a live person that can help your child with most content areas from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Please click on the link below to explore this service.

Public schools throughout California are required to provide information about themselves to the community in the form of an annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC). These report cards provide a variety of data to allow the public to evaluate and compare schools in several important areas:
● demographic information
● school safety and climate for learning
● academic data
● class size
● teacher and staff information
● professional development
● fiscal and expenditure data
The SARC, which follows the state's guidelines and document template, are issued each spring and focus on the previous academic year. A SARC is typically 12- 14 pages long. I have attached an electronic copy of our site’s SARC for the 2020-21 school year. Hard copies of our SARC are also available in the main office. The 2020-21 SARC is available at https://www.sarconline.org/. You can also access our current SARC electronically at: https://sarconline.org/public/print/37683386089056/2020-2021
If you have any questions about our school’s SARC, please don't hesitate to contact me.
