Inspirational Quote
"Employ your time in improving yourself by other men’s writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for."
--Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742-1799) was a scientist, the first to hold a professorship explicitly dedicated to experimental physics in Germany.Spirit Wear Orders

Spirit Wear Orders
Spirit Wear Orders will be coming in the later part of next week. Due to my husband having open heart by-pass, it has slowed everything down.
Thanks so much,
Pam
Just got good news, my husband is coming home today! Yay!
Creative Learning Center
Renovations are about 40% complete. Most of the computers from the old computer lab have been moved into classrooms for student use. Seven of them have been installed in the "Technology Rich" area of the CRC. Along with those PCs we have 20 new Chromebooks for use by classes when they are working on a program or project that requires numerous internet-ready devices.
- Pictured here are photos of the Pre-K Red students and teachers. They are working on a learning program called, "ABCmouse". You can see how engaged they are with this program.
This versatile space allows each classroom the opportunity to book time in the Center for general instruction, technology learning, research, reading, studying, collaborating on projects and assignments, as well as presenting to their class or other classes on two 55" HDTVs with a state-of-the-art sound system and microphone.
We look forward to the completion of our renovations later this year. The possibilities for dynamic learning are endless!
2015-2016 Accelerated Reader Program
The Accelerated Reader Program looks like it’s off to a great start for the first month of school! Each student is encouraged to read nightly. After reading, the students are encouraged to take an AR test on the book that they read. Each test gives a student points toward a trimester goal. Each month starting in September, the class which has the highest percentage of students reading and points accumulated will win a pizza party and the title of “Bookworm of the Month”. This is a very exciting and competitive program here at St. Paul School! We want our students to be the best readers around!
Parents can visit ARBookfind.com http://www.arbookfind.com/UserType.aspx to help their child find an appropriate book to fit the student’s interest and reading level.
Using the Goldilocks Rule
One good rule of thumb to use when finding a book on the correct reading level is to use the Goldilocks Rule.
If you read through a page and stumble upon five words that you do not understand, the book may be too hard for you. If you read through a page and find that the words are under your level, then the book is too easy. If you come across two to three words that you do not understand but can figure out using context clues, the book is just right for you. Happy reading!!
