New Social Studies Standards

Session 4: Integration of Additional State Curriculum

This is the fourth session in a series of professional development opportunities offered by CESA 10 consultants in conjunction with WI DPI Social Studies Consultant, Kris McDaniel (Kris will join us via recorded videos). During this session, we will learn how to leverage the inquiry approach when integrating other required content areas through authentic, interdisciplinary learning experiences. We will explore connections to American Indian Studies (AIS), Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (ELS) standards, and Information Technology Literacy standards (ITLS) in the Social Studies Classroom. Recommend for K-12 teachers and administrators.


Learning Outcomes will Include:


  • Participants will be better acquainted with the new Social Studies Standards (WISSS.)


  • Participants will learn how to integrate American Indian Studies (AIS), Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (ELS) standards, and Information Technology Literacy standards (ITLS) in the Social Studies Classroom.


This workshop is offered atno cost to those districts participating in LS1 including Abbotsford, Augusta, Bloomer, Bruce, Cadott, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, and Spencer. The cost for all other CESA 10 districts will be $175 per participant, and the cost for all others will be $300 per participant.
